An Australian man that leaped past a barrier and reached for actress Ariana Grande has been deported and prohibited from Singapore.

The individual, 26, was sentenced to more than a week in detention for being a public nuisance and has now been "prohibited from returning to Singapore," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority informed news outlets.

He forced his way beyond security and charged at the actress and singer, who was present at the Asian premier for Wicked: For Good on November 13. Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

He has a background of interrupting performances and celebrity events, including rushing the stage at a Katy Perry performance in Sydney in the past June.

The incident sparked outrage in Singapore, with numerous people claiming he of causing further distress to the star.

The singer has mentioned suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist bombing at her show in Manchester in May 2017 killed 22 individuals and injured hundreds.

In the legal process, the court heard he had made efforts to breach on the film's premiere on two occasions, according to local news sources.

He then made a another effort to jump the barricades. Security staff stopped him and pinned him down.

Wen later posted videos expressing gratitude to the star for allowing his presence and said he was "released."

Authorities took him into custody the next day and charged him with public nuisance, to which the man admitted guilt.

The Presiding Judge the magistrate was cited by Channel News Asia as remarking that he was looking for publicity, commenting that he was wrong to believe he would not suffer any consequences.

Grande has not spoken about the incident.

The co-star mentioned the situation to the press, stating that she "simply desired to ensure my friend was safe."

"I believe he didn't mean us injury, but you cannot be certain with these incidents, and I aimed to confirm that she was OK. That was my initial reaction," she stated.
