In excess of 36,000 people have escaped Sudan's Kordofan region eastern sector of Darfur beginning Saturday, as stated by the UN's immigration body.

The strategic central area separating the country's Darfur provinces and the Khartoum-Riverine region has in recent weeks become the newest conflict zone in the extended civil war between the Sudanese military forces and the militia group.

Substantial Exodus Statistics

An estimated 36,825 people fled five districts in North Kordofan state between 26 October and 31 October, according to the International Organization for Migration.

The individuals, primarily walking, headed to Tawila, a town west of El Fasher that is currently housing in excess of 652,000 refugees.

Heightened Troop Concentration

Local inhabitants of North Kordofan on Monday described a substantial rise in both RSF and army concentration across communities throughout the state.

Both armed factions are contesting control of El Obeid, the North Kordofan regional capital and a important strategic and command hub that joins Darfur to Khartoum.

"Today, all our forces have gathered at the Bara front here," stated an RSF member in a recently circulated video statement.

Local Citizens Describe Security Concerns

A area citizen of Um Smeima, located west of El Obeid, described that the amount of RSF vehicles had grown significantly since the group's seizure of El Fasher.

"We stopped going to our farms, concerned about confrontations," the resident stated.

Another resident, who requested anonymity for safety concerns, also indicated that "there has been a substantial growth in army vehicles and weapons west and south of El Obeid" over the past two weeks.

World Warnings and Appeals

A senior UN official raised the alarm last week about "widespread abuses" and "ethnically motivated reprisals" by RSF in Bara.

The representative warned of patterns similar to those in Darfur, where RSF fighters have been alleged to commit mass killings, sexual violence and abductions against certain racial groups.

The spiritual head on Sunday urged an immediate ceasefire and the creation of aid passageways in Sudan, stating that attacks on civilians and hindrances to humanitarian aid "are causing unacceptable suffering."

Sudan's diplomatic representative to Egypt on Sunday alleged RSF of carrying out war crimes in El Fasher and stated that the Sudanese government would not negotiate with the militia organization.

The representative further encouraged the world nations to designate the group as a terrorist group.
