A person who spiked candy with sleeping medication and distributed them to children at a summer program in the area has admitted sexual offences against two boys both between nine and ten.
The accused was detained after eight minors and one adult experienced illness at Stathern Lodge in the summer month.
The elderly man, from that region, pleaded guilty to a multiple criminal counts when he appeared at Leicester Crown Court on the end of the week.
Nevertheless, he denied one of the sexual offences he was charged with, which was involving a young boy.
The accused was held in detention prior to a further hearing on late November.
'Sweet game'
The legal representative, prosecuting, detailed Ruben's offending to the court.
She explained his those affected were children from difficult backgrounds who were participating in a summer camp which he ran.
Ruben engaged in a "treat game" with the children, the prosecutor said, in which he would go into the boys' rooms when they were settling down and ask them to ingest treats "rapidly".
She told the court the defendant had engaged in this activity with the boys "repeatedly", and minors had earlier experienced illness the subsequent day.
She stated the defendant had been capable of justifying this over a long period as the youngsters being "overwrought by enjoyment", until his family member had worries in recently.
Mrs Prior KC continued: "Recently" his family member had worries about the activities, for good reason.
"They chose" to examine in the man's possessions."
The prosecutor said materials including infant oil, ointment and syringes were located, and his stepson notified the police about his worries.
She said Ruben went on to engage in the "sweet game" with six children that night - July 26th - and they were all sick the next day.
"The police had not responded by that point," she continued.
The regulatory agency, the police conduct office, previously told that it was reviewing law enforcement's management of the events.
The legal representative stated the youngsters were unable to walk properly due to their condition, so the family member called the law enforcement again.
She said Ruben then conducted the "treat game" in a space of five children.
