Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a diverse cast of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in power within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of characters who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Given 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.
Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear out of place, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
First, the party understands precisely where to head next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise started the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, attacking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his obligations and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires retribution.
- The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
- The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- But, their position as key figures in the influential clan could assist the team reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making lingering locally dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to head to the northern region in quest for Casimir.
